11/41 - Mid-term Business Strategy

Our mid-term business strategy is driven by three business areas. First, we will strengthen earnings structure based on @cosme. Second, we will diversify into beauty-related businesses other than cosmetics retailing. And finally, we will engage in full-scale overseas business expansion. In order to strengthen earnings structure based on @cosme, we have consolidated our B-to-C and B-to-B fee-based services, an advertising/solution service and a transaction service into the newly-defined On Platform business. In the second business area, we will diversify into beauty-related businesses other than cosmetics retailing. In addition to operation of physical cosmetic retails stores, we have a plan to provide new services other than cosmetic-related services and retailing: for example, operation of hair salons, esthetic salons, nail salons, yoga studios and so on. We have not specifically decided what to do yet, but we will enter the markets of such beauty services anyway. In addition, we will develop cosmetic products. These activities are consolidated into the Beauty Service business. And the last is the Global business, which facilitates full-scale overseas business expansion. We plan expansion of our product wholesale, E-commerce, retailing stores, the @cosme website for overseas users, as well as development of cosmetic products and our original brands. Based on our new mid-term strategy, we will change the reported business segments from the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017. From this fiscal year, istyle will report the business result with three business segments: that is, On Platform business, Beauty Service business and Global business.
