Now, let’s begin.
- 00:02:23.9 Good afternoon everyone. I am CEO Yamada.
Before starting the presentation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your participation in the Q2 FY2016 Results Briefing. In particular, I would like to acknowledge and express our sincere appreciation for the ongoing support you have extended to our Investor Relations team. Thank you.
As noted by the MC, I will begin with my presentation, to be followed by Q&A. I will respond to questions related to Omron as a whole, and overall strategy. For questions requiring more detailed responses, including numerical data, I may hand over to the other members of our senior management team present today.
Please also allow me to express my deepest sympathies for those that have been impacted by the earthquakes in Tottori prefecture last week. Omron has an electronic components plant in the affected area. Many had expressed concern about potential damage but, fortunately, the damage to our facilities was limited. From Monday of this week we have been restarting the production process.
Following the Great East Japan Earthquake we developed a detailed business continuity plan and have conducted multiple emergency drills. These initiatives played a major role in allowing us to resume production quickly. The impact on our earnings will be minimal.
Returning to today’s main topic, let us start with a discussion of Omron’s Q2 FY2016 results.
