The acquisition of Sentech adds more than 200 industrial camera models to our lineup. Sentech also brings Omron technological expertise in ultra-compact, high resolution cameras, which is necessary for FA. This acquisition allows us to further enhance the ‘I’ in ILOR+S. In the future, Sentech technology opens the door to incorporating ultra-compact, high resolution cameras into our robotics products. Adding such optical capability will allow us to accelerate the development of robots that can take over functions that had heretofore been done by humans, such as high precision assembly and visual quality inspections. Having a robust product offering in all the categories of ILOR+S is a key differentiator for Omron and is why Omron can offer highly advanced control technologies that other FA players cannot.
