- 00:00:00.0 Good morning! Thank you for finding the time during this busy year-end season to participate in OMRON’s inaugural ESG briefing. It is gratifying to see so many people here today. Thank you so much.
As is the case with our regular results briefings, the majority of the participants here today are institutional investors. However, our audience also includes experts in the field of sustainability, as well as some involved parties and media participants. In addition, we have some students too, sitting the back of the room. Given the limitations on time, we respectfully ask if we may prioritize questions from institutional investors during the Q&A session.
We have set aside the final 30 minutes of the proceedings as a forum where you can interact directly with our speakers; please take advantage of this opportunity. As well, some of the proceedings today are being taped, for which we ask your understanding.
- 00:01:01.0 Today we will discuss Omron’s Sustainability Goals, as set out in conjunction with the Medium-term Management Plan VG2.0 which started this fiscal year, and as disclosed in the Integrated Report 2017 published in August 2017. We will present an overview of the Sustainability Goals as well as a progress report on some of our initiatives from the Board members with responsibilities for the relevant areas. The presentations will include specific examples.
We ask your understanding in that it will not be possible to cover all of the goals we have set for ourselves today. However, we intend to create opportunities going forward to provide updates on the areas not covered today, either a briefing like today’s or in the form of reports, including digital media.
Let us get started.
