【ノート】
Now I will introduce Subaru Global Platform (SGP). SGP represents SUBARU's chassis design concept which first was applied to Impreza in 2016. What SGP seeks is “dynamic quality,” “rational packaging,” and the “top-level passive safety performance.” “Dynamic quality” may be an unusual phrase to many of you but this term expresses our distinct commitment with a focus on human senses. Key indicators of our chassis development are performances such as “driving quality,” “quietness,” and “stiffness & stability,” which are superior to those of Japanese competitors. While the term “platform” may give you an impression that it refers to the use of common parts, it is not the primary purpose of SGP. Rather, SGP is an embodiment of our development concept that realizes high levels of performance in terms of all of the indicators. Starting with the 2016 Impreza, SGP has been incrementally improved in applications to the Forester, three-row SUV Ascent and Outback. Eventually, the SGP will reach the final form of its first phase with the all-new Levorg to be launched in the second half of 2020. However, this will not be the end, and we would like to pursue the further evolution of the technology toward the coming age.
