【ノート】
The four primary focuses of SUBARU's philosophy of “all-around safety” are: primary safety, active safety, preventive safety, and passive safety. Primary safety consists of the fundamental points to be considered first, such as excellent visibility and package design to mitigate the fatigue of drivers and passengers. Active safety relates to controllability that allows a driver to accurately avoid obstacles in front of the vehicle and ensure driving stability after an avoidance maneuver. Preventive safety relates to driver assist technologies represented by EyeSight. Passive safety is what protects the driver and passengers in the event of an accident that could not be avoided by these safety measures. In the vehicle safety assessments, passive safety has been rated traditionally. In recent years, preventive safety has been added to their scope. SUBARU's philosophy of safety encompasses not only these two but also primary safety and driving safety, and we believe this is the reason for the lower fatality rate in the real world. In the future, we will further enhance these four safety fields along with newly-added “connected safety” and we will develop technologies to attain the goal of zero fatal accidents in 2030 by utilizing AI technology.
