39/60 Evolution of Accident Prevention Features of EyeSight

These are the primary accident prevention features of EyeSight to be launched in the first half of 2020s. Today's EyeSight is basically designed to avoid collision during straight driving, but the greatest need for accident prevention resides in intersections and urban areas. Therefore, we will extend the capabilities of EyeSight to deal with urban accident situations such as: hitting pedestrians while turning, collisions with cars going straight in the opposite lane while turning right, and head-on crashes, etc. Further, in conjunction with other feature, EyeSight will have enhanced capacities to monitor driver status and respond to driver errors. New features will be added such as the lane departure prevention based on road edge recognition, which will be effective even on roads that do not have white lines, automatic emergency stop when the driver loses consciousness while driving. These features will be introduced on the next generation of Levorg.
