41/60 EyeSight: Stereo Camera System

While ADAS of other car manufacturers are often based on a combination of a single camera and radar, SUBARU has persistently used its proprietary stereo camera. The stereo camera system combined with SUBARU's proprietary recognition algorithm can recognize precise stereoscopic views of all objects in camera images, which allows the shape of every object to be captured, distance and velocity to be measured, and the location to be identified. This image shows that the EyeSight is recognizing the car driving 10 meters ahead, which is consisted of about 4,000 distance data points. The high probability of object detection leads to more precise control. Also, the system has excellent performance in road profiling, object location, and motion projection, and it offers the advantage of efficient information collection for recognition and judgment through stereo camera only. We would like to further enhance the system in the future.
