Incorporation of THS technology does not mean a simple installation of a TOYOTA unit onto SUBARU cars.
The video clip on the left illustrates the structure of Toyota Hybrid System for transverse-mounted front engine layout. As you can see, two motors highlighted in orange are laid out at the center.
However, Subaru uses the longitudinal engine layout. We will change the original THS layout to adapt it for SUBARU's longitudinal engine.
With this approach, we seek to redesign our power units and transaxles and make SUBARU's distinctive hybrid cars using THS technology.
