【ノート】
At Subaru, the hybrid vehicles will also be AWD. We will respond to the customer needs for AWD vehicles. For example, drivers in the USA snowbelt regions have to drive on slippery roads due to bad weather during winter season. In such conditions, FWD HEVs tend to experience disturbance due to slippage while attempting to regenerate energy from braking, which results in insufficient energy regeneration. Some other manufacturers produce models with a motor in the rear compartment for regeneration, but it is very difficult to control vehicle behaviors with a front engine and a rear motor and this also results in insufficient regeneration. Our direct-connecting AWD system is capable of maximum energy regeneration from all wheels while maintaining vehicle stability. As shown in the chart of regenerative performance on compacted snow roads, our AWD HEV system would be able to regenerate 30% more energy compared to FWD vehicles. Our strategy for hybrid vehicles has been developed with a view to enhance safety performance, AWD performance and the dynamic quality, not just reducing CO2 emissions.
