There are several obstacles, including the salary limit of 1,030,000 yen. Many part-timers who start working in January reach this limit around November. As a result, they do not come to work at the peak time in December. We therefore revised the system. We listen to the needs of every single part-time worker. We ask them to reduce their working hours, for example, from five hours to four, to continuously store up workable hours and avoid reaching the limit until December. As a result, we only needed 71 temporary part-time workers last December, whereas we had hired around 130 in each of the previous years. We achieved this by constantly changing the shifts, as I said earlier. While shipments increased by 5%, productivity rose by 6% from previous year. The burdens on regular employees are such that they eventually work overtime, because temporary part-time workers are not accustomed to their work. However, their overtime working hours have decreased. In the past, rationalization meant job cuts. Today, if we cut jobs, we fail to attract workers at peak times. As a result, we have leveled the working hours, as I mentioned earlier, and we are able to secure workers at peak times. In fact, although productivity has climbed 106%, the labor cost is almost unchanged. This is due to an actual rise in hourly wages. If we had not made these streamlining efforts, the labor cost would be 106% higher, or more.
