Next, I will discuss SUBARU’s environmental initiatives. This diagram shows not only the environmental performance of our products themselves, but also our thinking on how to make environmental contributions throughout the entire value chain and across the entire business. Since we are above all an automaker, our products have outsized influence on SUBARU’s environmental impact. As shown here, we will work to reduce total waste through product attributes such as reliability and longevity, safety, and utility. Of course, in the area of fuel economy, in addition to proceeding as planned with previously announced introductions of plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles, we intend to further expand the electric vehicle lineup. We will also improve the fuel economy of gasoline-engine vehicles through the introduction of a downsized turbo engine and weight-reduction technologies. With regard to initiatives to respond to regulations in each market, we will utilize available development resources to the fullest, including collaboration through alliances, to build an optimal product lineup adapted to market and customer needs.
