As announced in a press release issued today, SUBARU has decided to launch an open innovation initiative as a new initiative. First, we will establish a fund to invest ten billion yen over five years with the aim of creating value by investing in new technologies with the potential to propel a further leap forward in the core values of our brand or investing in seeds for new business models. We recognize that this has been an area of weakness for SUBARU and also hope this initiative will contribute to the creation of frameworks for generating innovation and cultivation of human resources internally.
